The retina is the innermost nerve layer that lines the back of the eye. The retina is responsible for processing the images projected onto it and transmitting that information to the brain.
A retina specialist is a medical doctor trained as an ophthalmologist who has received additional fellowship training in diseases and surgery of the vitreous and retina. Much of the treatment work done by our retina specialists involves macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachments, and flashes or floaters.
Retinal damage may cause blindness. If you are concerned you may have any of the above conditions, please schedule an appointment with one of our retina specialists. We look forward to helping you protect your vision and your eye health.
