An Ophthalmologist is an individual who has received a medial or osteopathic doctorate. Ophthalmologists specialize in eye and vision care and are able to diagnose a wide range of medical issues relating to the eyes. They can also perform corrective procedures or surgeries.
An Optometrist is an individual who has received a Doctor of Optometry. Optometrists help provide basic, primary eye care. These services can include vision tests, eye exams, prescribing corrective lenses or glasses, and medications.
