Our History

1974

Our co-founder, Dr. Stephen Levine, opens his first practice.

1977

Our co-founder, Dr. Kevin Thomas, opens his first practice.

1979

Dr. Thomas and Dr. Levine share an optical shop in Sandy Springs between their offices. The shop was called Eye Center Optical.

1982

Dr. Thomas and Dr. Levine open a satellite office in Lilburn, called Lilburn Eye Group.

1985

The Roswell office opens, under the name Eye Physicians of Roswell, PC.

1992

The original Sandy Springs office was moved to St. Joseph's Hospital.

1997

The Decatur office opens.

1999

Drs. Thomas and Levine decided to roll all locations into one entity, first named Pinnacle Eye Care, Inc., then transitioned to Thomas Eye Group.

2000-2021

Offices open and move:

2000 Woodstock office opens

2001 Newnan office opens

2012 Suwanee office opens

2013 Sandy Springs moves from St. Joseph's to Barfield Road

2015 Decatur office moves to Hillandale

2016 Newnan office moves to a larger building

2018 Midtown office opens

2019 Hamilton Mill office opens

2021 East Cobb office is acquired from Dr. John Miller

2022

Thomas Eye Group acquires 6 new locations (Georgia Optometry Group - 5 locations across Metro Atlanta and East Cobb Eye Center - 1 location in Marietta)

Thomas Eye Group opens 3 new locations (Peachtree City, City Springs and North Druid Hills)
