Cataract evaluations are done to determine if you have a cataract. Your provider will perform a complete eye exam, along with a host of additional special testing. A cataract is a common condition in which the normally clear lens of the eye becomes increasingly cloudy, resulting in fuzzy vision, muted colors, and difficulty reading signs while driving at night. Cataract Evaluations are billed to your medical insurance. Please contact your insurance carrier for coverage details.
A routine vision exam is performed for a patient who has no specific illness, symptoms, complaints, or injury that need to be treated or diagnosed. Routine vision exams are commonly booked when you want to update your glasses or contact lens prescription and will be billed to your vision insurance. Additional testing may occur during your routine vision exam. Please contact your insurance carrier for coverage details.
A routine pediatric eye exam is performed for a patient under the age of 18 who has no specific illness, symptoms, complaints, or injury that need to be treated or diagnosed. A diabetic eye exam is a comprehensive eye exam performed by an eye care professional. Diabetic eye exams are similar to a regular eye exam. However, during a diabetic eye exam, your eye doctor will specifically focus on the health of your retina and integrity of the blood vessels in your eye. This exam does not treat the eye disease, but rather screens the eyes for continued diabetic eye management.
