ISABELLE DORTONNE, M.D.

Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Isabelle Dortonne, M.D. is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University. She completed her medical education at Tulane University School of Medicine. After an internship in internal medicine with the Morehouse School of Medicine, she completed her residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC, which has the distinction of being the first fellowship in this field in the world.

She has experience working with pediatric and adult patients and has been involved in research at the National Eye Institute and the Tulane Transplant Institute. According to Dr. Dortonne, the most rewarding part of being an ophthalmologist is preserving vision, which is one of the most precious gifts, and being entrusted by patients and their families with their eyesight. She looks forward each day to actively involving her patients in discussion about their care and empowering them to feel confident about their vision.

She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the National Medical Association, and the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, of which she is part of their task force on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Dr. Dortonne serves patients at our Roswell and Woodstock locations. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, traveling, trying all kinds of sweets, and visiting the beach and botanical gardens.
