He is known for being selected by eye doctors, other physicians, malpractice lawyers, and real estate developers to perform their eye surgery. He is also known as a go to surgeon for managing complicated cataract cases that involve prior refractive procedures. He has also been identified as a “Top Doctor” in the annual Atlanta Magazine’s Top Doctors Edition for five years in a row.
In treating cataracts and restoring youthful vision to his patient, Dr. Blasberg utilizes the most advanced intraocular lens (IOL) technology available. Since 2005, when advanced IOLs were introduced onto the market, Dr. Blasberg has treated patients with multi-focal, toric, and specialty lenses. These lenses restore vision and dramatically improve the quality of life for his patients. He is also an early adopter of the latest in IOL innovation, the Light Adjusted Lens (LAL), which allows for corrections post-surgery. Additionally, he has performed laser cataract surgery since this technique’s inception at the Thomas Eye Group in 2016.
Dr. Blasberg evaluates and employs the most advanced and effective surgical procedures and technology with other diseases. He specializes in cataract and glaucoma management. In managing glaucoma, he provides the advanced technology iStent® Trabecular Micro-Bypass Stent as a treatment option to reduce eye pressure for patients with both cataracts and glaucoma.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Emory. He remained at Emory for his ophthalmology residency and continued on to serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Additionally, he maintains professional affiliation with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
