Stuart J. Newman, M.D. is a Board Certified ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive medical and surgical care of the eye including eye exams, contact lenses, diagnosis and treatment of dry eye disease and refractive surgery. Dr. Newman leads the Thomas Eye Group Dry Eye Center of Excellence. In addition, Dr. Newman brought CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) to the Thomas Eye Group in 2002. CRT is a device used to reshape the surface of the eye, to nonsurgically eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses.
Dr. Newman graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. degree from the State University of New York at Albany. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
Dr. Newman is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists, the American Medical Association, the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Medical Association of Atlanta, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
