Throughout life we often have experiences that are “eye-opening,” but two patients of Thomas Eye Group say their eye surgery experiences literally changed the way they see the world.

At age nine, more than 50 years ago, Cathy Crossett, was playing in the field near her Burlington, NC home when a windstorm blew a roof shingle to the ground. A friend picked the shingle up and tossed it like a Frisbee to a playmate, but unfortunately, it hit Cathy in the face, causing a traumatic cataract on one of her eyes.
