Jerry E. Berland, M.D. is a fellowship-trained, Board Certified pediatric ophthalmologist in practice since 1994. His specialty is comprehensive medical and surgical eye care for children, including surgery to correct eye muscle imbalance, tear duct obstruction, cataracts, glaucoma and abnormalities of the eyelid. Eye muscle surgery in adults is also his specialty.
Dr. Berland is the Assistant Chief of Ophthalmology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and has a distinguished background. He has been recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Atlanta Magazine and US News and World Report each year from 2012 to 2015 and was past President and Vice President of the Thomas Eye Group. He served as an ophthalmologist in the US Army Medical Corps at the rank of Major. Also, as Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine, he taught eye surgery.
In his leisure time Dr. Berland enjoys time with his family and is an avid surfer, sailor and skier.
