| The Story of Thomas Eye Group |
| |
|
Thomas Eye Group, P.C. is the product of a rich heritage. Our roots extend from one of the oldest ophthalmology practices in Atlanta.
W. Kevin Thomas, M.D. and Stephen B. Levine, M.D. established Thomas Eye Group, P.C. in 1996 by merging their Thomas Eye Group, Pediatric EyeCare of Atlanta, and Great Outlooks Eyewear practices. First called Pinnacle EyeCare, Inc., the combined entity became known as Thomas Eye Group, P.C., in 2002.

Drs. Levine and Thomas' first joint venture was Great Outlooks Eyewear, which they established together in 1981. Dr. Thomas had already established the original Thomas Eye Group in 1977, while Dr. Levine had founded Pediatric Eye Surgery of Atlanta (later known as Pediatric EyeCare of Atlanta) that same year. Eventually they merged all three practices under the single umbrella of Thomas Eye Group, P.C.
Over the years, Drs. Levine and Thomas have acquired other ophthalmology practices, and several prominent ophthalmologists have joined their organization. By acquiring the practice of Hugh Klotz, M.D. in October 1998, Thomas Eye Group gained the oldest continuous eye-care practice in Atlanta. Founded in 1926, the practice is a proud addition to Thomas Eye Group.
Today's Thomas Eye Group, P.C. encompasses three integrated eye-care divisions dedicated to providing comprehensive, personal, and excellent eye care. Ownership is entirely held by our practicing physicians. They are Thomas Eye Group, Pediatric EyeCare and Thomas Eyewear.
