Stephen B. Levine, M.D., FACS, FAAO, FAAP is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He founded Pediatric Eye Care, one of the largest pediatric ophthalmology practices in the country.  Dr. Levine sees patients at our Alpharetta and Atlanta offices. His practice is dedicated to the medical and surgical treatment of eye problems in children, and regular vision exams.


Dr. Levine earned a Bachelor's Degree from Washington College and a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Downstate Medical Center in New York. Following completion of an internship at Kings County Hospital in New York, he served as a General Medical Officer in the United States Health Service Division of Indian Health on Indian reservations in Minnesota and Oklahoma. He returned to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where he completed a residency in Ophthalmology. After being awarded honorary fellowships by the Heed Foundation and the Seeing Eye Foundation, he completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and Children's Hospital in Washington, DC.

Dr. Levine is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He has served on the teaching staff at Grady Memorial Hospital and has also served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Emory University School of Medicine. He is a past president of the Atlanta Ophthalmologic Society and has served on the clinical faculty in the Department of Ophthalmology at Emory University. He has been named in Atlanta Magazine as one of the city's leading ophthalmologists and recently was named as one of America's top ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council of America.

He has served for the past 10 years as a visiting lecturer to the nurse practitioner program of both Georgia State University and Emory University. He has served as the Chief of Ophthalmology and the head of the Department of Surgery at Scottish Rite Hospital. He is past President of the Cobb Area Pediatric Society. Dr. Levine frequently provides educational programs to the Atlanta pediatric community and most recently spoke at the annual meeting of the Georgia Academy of Pediatrics. He serves as the Chairman of the subspecialty committee of the Georgia Chapter of the Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Levine is married and has three daughters. His spare time is spent with his family and growing orchids. An ex-tennis player, he is now trying to learn how to play golf.
